Parenting tips

Bringing up children is no easy job. And the best and probably the worst thing about parenting is that there are no rules! And even if there were rules, you can’t really implement them, as every child is different. So more than rules, we have some tips for you, which you can consider while bringing up your child:

1. Be what you want your child to be:

If you want your little one to spend less time on the screen and more time reading, he will do it only if he sees you doing it. Children observe their parents intently and try to imitate them. So if you opt to sit with your smartphone for hours together in your child’s company, you cannot expect him to read a book then! You start reading and watch how your child gets into the habit of reading them!

2. Allow the child to choose:

Since a young age, you should allow your child to make a choice. Let them decide how they want to dress up – they may end up looking funny, but it doesn’t matter. Allowing your child to make a choice will make him independent as he grows up. Of course, you can guide your child when you feel they’re going wrong, but at least allow them to think freely.

3. Express your love:

Make your child aware and know that he’s loved. Hug them, tell them you love them. In a world full of fake people, let your child know that there is someone who loves him unconditionally. This will give your child the confidence to confide in you and freely talk about what they feel.

4. Be open to discussion:

In case of difference of opinion, don’t get all authoritative on your child. Instead, discuss it out and tell your child why you feel it’s not right. Listen carefully to what your child is saying – sometimes observing things from your child’s perspective is important too. But again, this doesn’t mean you give in always – make an attempt to reason out and convince your child too.

Positive

5. Positive affirmation:

You need to build up your child’s confidence. Confidence and self-esteem are two important things which you have to equip your child. Keep reminding your child about the things they are good at. It will unconsciously build up their confidence, enough to take on the world as they grow up.

Hope these tips help!

Essential qualities of a good lawyer

Being a great lawyer is not everyone’s cup of tea. While some are inborn with the qualities that make them a perfect lawyer, others are not. So what do you? Try to inculcate those qualities in you right? That’s what this post is all about – essential qualities of a good lawyer. Read on to know more:

1. Great communication skills:

You have to be able to put forth your points and opinions effectively. Being a compelling speaker and a good listener are must-have qualities of a lawyer. If you lack the confidence to speak confidently in a public platform, you can enroll yourself into a public speaking course, which will help you gain enough confidence to be able to stand in front of a hall full of people!

Communication

2. Careful analyzing skills:

A lawyer is all about analyzing, understanding and using the acquired information for the client’s benefit. For this, having the sense of assuming, reasoning and coming to logical conclusions is important. To improve this, observe live courts, watch series, read books – all these will help you broaden your vision and come up with creative solutions for your client issues.

3. Diplomacy:

You cannot be straightforward – reserve that quality for the court, in front of the judge! But when dealing with clients and others, you have to be very diplomatic if you genuinely want to get out the information which you want. Being diplomatic has many benefits and will get you a long way ahead.

Diplomacy

4. Honesty:

You have to approach every case honestly. Having said this, being honest and transparent with your client is essential too. Diplomacy and honestly do collide against each other, but you cannot help but be honest in a profession where you are working to protect and safeguard justice.

5. Research ability:

You need to have the skill and tactfulness to get the right information from the right place. Of course, this comes with a lot of experience, but you have to keep trying. Your efforts will surely pay off one day. For this, you need to read a lot of legal stuff and also knowing where to look out for different kinds of information you require.

Research Ability

6. Determination:

You need to have that drive and determination to become successful at whatever you take up. Possessing these essential qualities will help you in the long run, so make sure you keep yourself motivated and determined always.

How to make the most of your life

We’ve all been gifted this wonderful gift of life – each with 24 hours a day in hand. How we use it entirely depends upon us. While most of the while we’re occupied with work, and another major chunk of the day we sleep, working and sleeping are not what life’s all about. You have to do something every day, to make yourself feel good about yourself and say proudly – I’m making the most of my life! Let’s have a look at some proven ways to make sure you truly enjoy your life:

1. Wake up and exercise:

Give your day a thrilling start – we’re all lazy to do it, but the minute you get used to exercising, you’ll never feel like missing even a single day! Physical activity pumps in energy into your day, keeping you looking forward to your work and feeling fresh all day long. So get up and get started, with anything you love to do – running, swimming, dancing, aerobics – just give it a go!

Exercise

2. Pick up a new hobby:

Whether it’s cooking, playing an instrument, painting, doodling – pick up something that will help you vent out your stress and most profound emotions. The best way is to keep yourself occupied in some or the other hobby – you feel you’ve used your time productively and at the same time, you are away from the fast-paced world, having your own me-time.

3. Learn to let go:

Most of our struggles and stress are built up because of not being able to let go. We hold on to things which are frivolous, adding up to the existing stress we have. Life is not forever, so you have to make whatever you are given with your ‘forever.’ Stressing yourself out over things you can’t change at all won’t help – so might as well, let them be as it is and you move on.

Eat Healthy

4. Eat healthily:

Your body is your temple, your own sacred place. So don’t go on dumping junk into it now and then. Once a while, indulgence is perfect, but when unhealthy food habits become a part of your life, you need to put a full stop right there. The healthier you eat, the better you it will fuel you and keep you energized. So opt for healthy, organic and natural stuff over any of the junk food.

Making the most of your life is not a huge task – you just have to keep doing what you love and what makes you happy to live a fruitful and productive life.

Workplace ethics you need to keep in mind

Your workplace demands an altogether different version of you – it’s a professional, formal setup which expects you to match up the standards of professionalism and ethics. If you’ve just started out on your professional journey, you need to keep in mind a few things which will help you maintain the decorum of the organization you are working for. Here we go:

Stick to the company policy:

Every company has a specific behavior policy which you have to abide by. This is the first step you have to take towards implementation of ethics. These policies are detailed and have all the relevant clauses you need to keep in mind when it comes to behavior in your organization.

Be honest:

It’s always better to be honest than getting tagged for something you’re not! You may get reprimanded, but honesty is always expected and appreciated. So if you haven’t completed the task on time, report it immediately to the one who has assigned it to you. Being honest helps, so be open and outright when it comes to such issues.

Be a team player:

You cannot stay aloof when you are in an organization. So always attempt to get along with your team. You don’t have to be friends or don’t have even to like them. But being cordial with each other doesn’t take a lot – try to maintain cordial and professional relations with everyone.

Team Player

Stick to your word:

If you’ve given the word, stick to it and don’t back out in the end. You have to show immense dedication and commitment towards your work if you want to create a name for yourself as a responsible and hardworking employee.

Be punctual:

Punctuality is one quality which you have to project, Being late to work once a while is totally acceptable and excusable too, but if it becomes a regular affair, you will quickly come across as a casual and careless employee. Work hours are specifically mentioned for you to follow them, so do it – even if it means to wake up and leaving your home early!

Strong self-confidence:

We’re all well aware – making a cut in the corporate world is not an easy task -especially if you are an employee. Your strong self-confidence is something that will help you cruise through all the challenges and tough situations that come your way in your workplace. Keep your motivation and confidence levels high always.
